happy thursday! i wrote this thankful list while flying back to SF on monday evening and thought i would share with you! i truly believe in the power of gratitude and acknowledging what’s good in life, even when i don’t feel like it and when it seems difficult to identify a few things. what are YOU thankful for today? ps – more thankful lists can be found HERE!

being able to go to my grandpa’s 80th birthday // sissy sleepovers and talking for hours before falling asleep // slowly getting better at yoga // one-on-one time with my dad // TARGET (always) // kindness from strangers (i’m thinking of a particularly kind employee at sephora currently) // travel // having amazing role models in my life // our upcoming trip to mexico! // driving in the car with my three sisters, blaring taylor swift and all four of us singing together // jack in his raincoat // my intern, michelle for making my life a lot easier // advice and life chats with mom // brassica (this amazing restaurant in Columbus that is like chipotle but mediterranean, so you can build-your-own falafel wrap or bowl with insanely delicious, local veggies and toppings) // being a big sister // my cousin’s sweet daughter ruby’s little laugh // family game night // having people who understand, love and accept me unconditionally // face masks // journaling (loving my 52 lists journal lately) // a good cry sesh // blueberry ginger kombucha // wakeup puppy kisses // feeling strong after a good workout // california // my little family – E & jack! // feeling like a local (i saw the owner of my go-to sushi spot while eating at another restaurant in a different neighborhood and he recognized me! i was so happy!) // my ever-changing letterboard // THURSDAYS!

thursday thankful list

Posted on: Thursday, March 3, 2016

i’m been feeling a little off lately and i’ve caught myself being too quick to be pessimistic, worried and anxious. and i don’t like to admit that, but it feels good to just type those words out and be honest and share! when i’m feeling this way and shifting into a not-so-great mindset, it’s important for me to take a step back and re-focus. to pray, to read, to meditate, to remember who i am and why i’m here. to remember that living life being scared and worried isn’t a good way to live at all, but that seeking the light and good in all things and in the every day is.

i used to share thursday thankful lists every single week and i miss that practice – of remembering and sharing the big and little things that make life special and amazing. so that’s what i’m going to try to start doing more of, both on this blog and journaling alone before bed.

on sunday at church, i heard these simple words that i’m telling myself over and over and over: “every day is an opportunity to say thank you for blessings seen and unseen.” every single day. every time i feel a wave of worry, anxiety, confusion —  i simply want to find something to be grateful for. my life is surrounded by so many beautiful and amazing things – seen and unseen – to be thankful for, and it’s important to keep seeking that, even when it feels hard to do so.

that being said, today’s thankful list took longer than usual to put together…but here’s where i’m at. i am choosing to take today to jump on the opportunity to say thank you – for any and all things, seen and unseen. this is what i’m thankful for!

learning new things – went to a pickling class last night!
advice from my mom
flowers – always, always, always.
being loved even when i don’t deserve it
this verse: “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
sleeping in
a new baby in the family – yay for little ruby!
“we deserve 2 {or 3} pastries” breakfast dates with nicole!
phone calls with grandpa
a justin beiber soulcycle ride with ali. SO FUN.
seeing photos of scout {my sister’s saint bernard puppy!}
re-watching old disney movies
seeing vance joy in concert last week! so, so good.
how helpful brian has been with all my blog technical things!
cooking meals at home
God’s faithfulness
anthropologie catalogues in the mail
remembering how significant and loved you are
planning trips!
kindness from strangers
that i’ll get to wear my rain boots this weekend! {hello full week of rain}
